Meat You TU/e course DPB390 - Final Bachelor Project - Transformative Practices
Meat is a foodstuff that is ubiquitous today and it has been close to us for ages. It has given shape to rich rituals and experiential associations. At the prospect of the increasing popularity of vegetarian and vegan diets and products, I critically examined meat culture. I found a big discrepancy between the way we feel about the product and the process of meat that I wanted to address through design. I conceptualized an alternate restaurant experience where guests kill their food, aimed at reconnecting consumers to the source of their food and facing the dissonant emotions this prospect entails.
